Hello Faith North Community!
A big thank you to all who attended last evenings Board Study Session. Dialogue was begun with regards to the planning and healthy expansion of the Montessori program as well as the identification of a free standing campus.
The Position Statement created by the work from our Site Council reads:
There is a need to develop a 3-5 year strategy for the Montessori program in order to provide an exceptional, state recognized program.
*Elimination of school within a school model
*Continue to grow a free standing school to allow for continued program expansion
*Continued support for Montessori teacher training, until there is a solid local option, continue to send teachers out of state for training
We need to provide excellent customer service, as parents have many options in the area for education, we would like to increase retention.
Coming together as a community to assist the administration in our district in making strong, sound decisions to accomplish this goal will be necessary as we move through the process this year. As meetings continue for planning, you have the opportunity for your voice to be heard. Our Site Council meetings will be one forum to discuss and plan a shared vision. We hope to see you at our next meeting on Wednesday, October 19th at 5:00 in the media center at FNM@Shaw.
10 more school days until autumn break! Just does not seem possible.
All the best,
Susan Engdall
