Here we are, midway through our second trimester and there is still so much work to be done. This time of year, we see remarkable growth and progress in our students.
In this newsletter you will find insights and tips on some ways that you can best support and help grow your students’ level of responsibility and independence.
This spring semester brings many extra curricular opportunities for academic enrichment too. We will hold our first school spelling bee on January 14th at 5:00 in the multi-use room at North. This bee is sponsored by PESD and Scripps. Hopefully we will see one of our finalist at the National Scripps Bee in May! We will also be holding our third annual Science Fair on February 19th in the multi-use room at North from 5:00 until 7:00. Your children will be bringing home more information soon.
I want to thank the Faith North PTA for it’s continuing support both seen and unseen. The Fall Carnival was a MAJOR success and many volunteer hours were spent making sure that there was something for everyone in the community to enjoy. The Holiday Boutique was a fun function that offered some great goodies for gift giving. A couple of upcoming fundraisers are the magazine sale, beginning January 9th and our Cookie Dough fundraiser February 9-20th.
The funds from these sales go to our outdoor environments including care for our animals as well as selected field trips and some funding for classroom teachers. We can always use the extra help on fundraisers and school functions so join us for our PTA meetings for additional information They are held on the first Wednesday of each month, or give the school a call and we can direct you to the fundraising chair person.
Lastly, our afterschool class list offerings will be distributed Monday, January 12th. On this day you will find the sign up book available in the office at North. Afterschool classes will begin the week of January 26th.
