Hello Faith North Community,
The 3rd years as well as Ms. Roam’s class headed to the YMCA Camp Surf in Imperial Beach, California to share S'mores around the campfire, eat terrific food, and experience school at the beach. This unique trip provides opportunities to explore beach, wetland, and intertidal communities. It also includes a hike to the Tijuana Estuary, the largest coastal wetland in San Diego County.
On Tuesday evening, Shannon Allsworth presented “Digital Literacy” which showed us how our children are affected by media both positively and negatively and offered 5 things that parents can do to establish guidelines and protect our children. Make rules, be a media critic, discuss safety, set limits and join the fun. It has some great agreements for families to adopt as well as providing an ongoing, online tool for parents to use to preview movies and video games. Shannon will re-present this information in the fall.
We have a big week coming up. We will have our first of three promotion ceremonies as well as our fantastic end of the year event the Talent Show/Basket Raffle/Potluck. Please cook up your favorite traveling dish and come join us at 5:30 to enjoy the incredible talent of the Faith North children. WARNING: This is a colorful, noisy, crowded and rowdy event, come in the spirit of family style fun!
Extra raffle tickets are still available in the Faith North School office and we have some AMAZING baskets...water fun, movie fun, green baskets and even a yoga basket just to name a few.
