Hello Faith North Community,

Thanks to all of you that attended the "Back to School Bash" last Friday. There was yummy food, fun nature crafts for the children and good company all around. If you were not able to be here to meet new friends and see old ones, please plan to join us for Bingo and spagetti on Friday, September 28th from 6-8. Great prizes and fun await! Don't forget to visit Volunteer Spot located on our website under Parents and Students to sign up for your volunteer hours. It is one great way to show your children how much you value their school and education.

It's almost October and the end of the year will be here soon. Please consider making a tax credit donation to our school. These funds are used in many ways to benefit all of our children. We sponsor field trips, scholarships and the outdoor environment. The State of Arizona allows a married couple filing jointly to donate $400.00. A person filing a single or head of household return may contribute up to $200.00. This “credit” is refunded to you in full when you file your taxes either reducing your tax debit or giving you that money back in your refund. Please help us continue to offer the opportunities to our students that make an education at Faith North so special. Our children are counting on you to help fund an extraordinary Montessori experience in the public sector. Check with your tax professional to see how it can benefit you.

What a great first week it has been. The students returned earger to work and see one another. We are looking forward to a fine year.

This week, Superintendent of Public Instruction John Huppenthal announced the release of Arizona's A-F letter grades for all district and charter schools in the state. In accordance with ARS 15-241 the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) is charged with attributing letter grades to every district and charter school in the state. These letter grades are based on the weighting of student performance on the AIMS tests and student academic growth from year to year, along with additional points awarded for high English Language Learner reclassifications. Every school and district receives a report card with a grade that reflects their annual academic profile.

We are pleased and proud to announce that Faith North received an A rating. This is a reflection of great parenting, great teaching, great learning and a very supportive community! To view the A-F Letter Grades visit http://www.azed.gov/research-evaluation/a-f-accountability/.

Speaking of COMMUNITY please join us Wednesday evening, August 8th at 5:00 for our first Site Council and PTA meeting. The Site COuncil meeting will be held in the media center at North at 5:00 and the PTA meeting will follow in the multi-use room at 6:00.
